guNa sandhi

guNa sandhi (गुण सन्धि )

This sandhi happens among the following vowels -
     अ, ए, ओ

    * आद्गुणः 

अ + इ = ए
अ + उ = ओ
अ + ऋ = अर्
अ + लृ = अल् 

Few examples, 

रमा + ईशः = रमेशः 
अर्ध + इन्दुः = अर्धेन्दुः 

गङ्गा + उदकम् = गङ्गोदकम्
हित + उपदेशः = हितोपदेशः

      sura + eeshaH sureshaH,
      parama + eeshaH parameshaH,
      roopa + eeshaH roopeshaH,

    It's said at the top, Guna sandhi happens among अ, ए, ओ; but, while explaining… इ,उ,ऋ,ल्रृ are shown as combining with अ। please explain with some more examples.
